The Client

Aspect Facades is a UK-based company that specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke and sustainable building facades. With an experienced team, Aspect Facades offers innovative solutions that meet the unique requirements of each project. The company has worked on some of the UK's most iconic buildings, including the Olympic Stadium in London and the Manchester Royal Infirmary, and has a reputation as a trusted partner for architects, developers, and contractors.



As a result of their expansion, the company requested a roadmap to help their team comprehend the primary pain points and determine necessary measures to support the growth in contacts, projects, and the company overall.



To begin the process, all staff members were interviewed to comprehend their work methods, including the use of programs and documents, as well as to identify any pain points related to processes and technical limitations. These findings were then translated into an end-to-end service blueprint, ranging from estimation to project completion, to identify any areas and connections between teams that may be problematic and require improvement.

The Problem

The Process

Using the initial discovery findings, I developed a potential "to be" journey to enhance the overall flow and identify all system requirements for each step, in order to resolve all of the issues that were flagged.

Our recommendation for that transformation to the proposed solution was broken down into 4 phases.
Each phase was intended to solve a particular business problem and deliver only as much IT/process change as is necessary to achieve that goal. Because of the integrated nature of the proposed solution, each of the phases delivered a thin slice through multiple systems and processes. This lean approach allows us to deliver value as quickly as possible with as little work as possible.

The following were identified:

  • Improve the Communication between Construction and Office Staff

  • Expand and Improve Project Management across the Company

  • Optimise the Estimation Process

  • Easier Cashflow Management across the Company and Individual Projects
